Growing up and Growing older...Yep that is what everyone seems to be doing right now. I was fixing dinner last night when out of the blue Josh was like "Wow, this year Preston will be 8, Michael will be 4, Tyler will be 3, and shortly after Natalie will be 2!" It wasn't much of a shock to me that they are going to be a year older because I guess it's something I think about everyday. Especially as I pass clothes down from one child to the next while doing laundry. It amazes me how much they have grown! What makes me sad is realizing that Natalie isn't much of a baby anymore. I really missed those early days of her babyhood while I was stuck out in the hospital. That is something that I will never get back and never get to experience again.
Preston is becoming more and more independent as each day passes. We take our daily bike rides every evening and he ventures farther and farther ahead. I trust him...just not other people. It has kind of become a mutual decision between me, Josh, and Lawrence that we are going to attempt to clean out the lot between our houses so that we can let the kids have a safe place to walk through and play instead of the street. So far we have the street and side fence line cleared.
Micheal wants to be treated like the "bigger kids" but I don't trust him. He likes to run off and he has no fear of strangers. He figures that if he introduces himself, shakes their hand, and finds out their name then they are no longer strangers but friends. We are also working on the hitting. He seems to have picked up punching his brothers and sister from...???...I wonder...Makes me mad.
Tyler is starting to put more and more words together. He still babbles but he's getting there. He is in big boy underwear daily now! Pull-ups at naptime and Huggies Overnights at bedtime. If someone was to walk by and hear the way we talk with him they would probably think that we were crazy or something. We are constantly saying things like "Don't potty on Elmo", he wears Elmo underwear, or "Go make bubbles in the potty", he discovered that when he pees in the potty there are bubbles that come up...lol!
Natalie...wow! She's such a big girl. She says Mama, and Dada, Bubba, kiki (kitty), tickle tickle, and a few more. Her favorite thing to do is dance. I'll find her in the playroom or she'll walk into the living room and just start dancing around. It sort of resembles a little Indian powow rain dance sort of thing but it's so cute!
Well, I better sign off for now. I just wanted to update a little on here since it has been so long. Maybe one day I will actually have time to post some pictures up on here.
Ta-ta for now...off to the world of laundry, dishes, and toy pick up. Then maybe some time with the kids out by their pool.
