Prayers and tears...

I've been praying daily to Heavenly Father for a friend of mines family.  Her son was born almost a month ago with something called Heterotaxy. His heart formed wrong and many of his organs are supposed to be in the wrong places.  Also he has no spleen.  The poor little guy has had about 3 surgeries since he was born.  His mother was able to hold for the first time since he was born today amongst wires and tubes.  Every update she posts brings tears to my eyes.  She has been so strong through everything.

I can somewhat relate to what she is going through but only my experience was the complete opposite. I was the one stuck in the hospital with wires and tubes coming out of me while my baby was at home waiting.  I will never forget when Josh was able to bring her up to me and I was able to hold her.  I remember having to move the tubes and wires out of the way and how I had to be careful in the way I moved so I wouldn't pull on something that shouldn't be pulled.  I remember when he showed up with her how my heart just dropped because I was just beginning dialysis for the day and I was so worried that they would tell me no I couldn't hold her.  I don't really remember holding her after she was born.  All I remember was being wheeled back into surgery as Josh was at the door watching.  Just bits and pieces are in my mind. All I know is I wanted to go home to be with my husband and our children.

I don't know how I would have handled it if I was in Mary's position. Which brings me to thinking about Baby David.   I guess we can consider him lucky in the way that he won't remember what is going on right now or the pain.  Yes, he'll probably have to go through many surgeries during his life but hopefully this will be the worst of it all.  And hopefully the worst will be over soon.

Let's just all pray up to Heavenly Father for him to gain weight.  For him to be able to get off the intubation.  Pray for his family and that he will be able to go home in the near future and that he can lead a wonderful, happy life.

Been busy...Still am...

It's been about a week since I last wrote anything.  We've been up and going pretty much non-stop. We had Ms. Marquarts retirement concert. We were able to see so many friends that we haven't seen since high school! It's amazing to see everyone all married and having children.

Preston and Sabrina had their talent show.  It was cute.  They sang the "In the jungle" song. Preston also FINALLY pulled out his tooth! Every other tooth seemed to come out easily but this one was tough.  He had been messing with it for about a month and it ended up looking bruised and black looking.  When he finally got it out it was so long!

Michael ended up copying Natalie.  He wanted to be a baby just like her and decided to rug burn his nose too.  He barely drug his nose 2 ft across the carpet and it was already blistered! He is proud of what he has done...

We took the 3 little kids to the mall Monday.  We had to look for something or the other for Josh's mom.  Never found what we were looking for. We let the kids play in the play area for a bit and they had fun. Michael was pretty much a blur in all of the pictures that I had tried to take of him.

Well, we have lots to do today and not much time to get everything done. We have a birthday party to go to out on the lake and then we are supposed to meet up with some friends at the aquatic center for more water fun.  Josh and I might take the two babies up to the aquatic center tomorrow too.  Well, I better end this.  I have much to do before I leave the house.  Breakfast dishes, laundry, beds...etc...life!

Oh!!! We have two new additions to our family and as soon as I can get a good picture I will post!

Half way there...

This has to be turning out to be the longest day ever!  It's nap time for the kids now so hopefully it will get better.  The day usually flies by after nap time.  Let's hope it does.  I know that I am definitely going to be laying down myself.  I need a break!

To start it all off, I didn't fall asleep until after midnight.  Natalie is getting her last teeth in so she has been waking up in the middle of the night fussing.  What really makes her happy are mirrors.  I don't know if she is fascinated with seeing herself in them or another baby...lol.

Tyler got up and came into the room with a sippy cup which he whacked into the side of my head while I was sleeping.  I guess he really must have wanted a drink. He looked half asleep when I was actually able to open my eyes.

I found Michael up at a little past 5am this morning jumping on his bed with the bedroom light on!  A few minutes ago he took the baby powder and dumped the rest of it out on his bedroom carpet.  He has been wild all morning!  Ty was starting to copy.

Still no luck on finding the hamster.  Josh thinks she actually got out of the house.  I hope that's where she went so I won't come across a little decomposing furry body later on down the line.

We took the kids to Ms. Marquarts retirement concert last night.  The whole thing was amazing! There were reps from 1980-present day. Just being there brought back so many memories.  It was also wonderful to be able to see some of our old friends with their families.  I don't know how to describe how I feel when I see the people we grew up with all married now and most with children of their own.  I guess I'm just in awe of it all.

Well, my day is halfway over...hopefully the rest will fly by with little trouble. I can't say none because then that will just be boring!

Missing!!!

Well, I got up this morning to find out that Smokey, our Russian Dwarf Hamster, escaped from her cage...again.  She has learned that if she pushes hard enough then she can knock the tube cover off of the side of the cage.  The first time I discovered she could do this was about 3am when I went into the bathroom and had her at my feet.  Today, I haven't been so lucky.  I placed small piles of food in front of places that I have thought she may be hiding out at and then later placed a cut up carrot with it too.  The babies and I left to meet up with Daddy for dinner and then out to buy shoes for Natalie and when we got back the carrot in front of the fridge was gone!  So, I figured that she was behind the fridge.  I have the refridgerator pulled out from the wall, pretty much in the middle of the kitchen, and no hamster.  Now I am thinking that she is inside the back of it or something.  I have peanut butter graham crackers set out behind it right now trying to tempt her out.  I put that there 2 hours ago and not a peep from her.  I turned out the light thinking maybe that would help.  Still, no hamster. I am ready to go insane!  Hopefully Josh won't come home and walk into the the fridge that is awkwardly sitting in the middle of the kitchen.

Preston went to his grandmas and I'll pick him up tomorrow morning.

Michael is with Amanda.  She has a new...I don't know what to call it...she thinks that Michael needs to get into a speech program.  There is no reason he needs to be in speech.  That boy is advanced and can talk better than any 3 year old.  She has to find something to fuss over I guess.

Tyler is still accident free!  On the way to dinner tonight he sat back in his carseat and kept repeating "No peepee Elmo".

Natalies nose looks worse today than it did yesterday.  It doesn't seem to bother her at all though so I guess that's a good thing.

Well, I better go see if I have had any luck with the hamster situation.

Just a short one tonight...

Not staying up too late tonight.  I haven't been feeling too well today.  May be just lack of sleep. I don't know.  Let's just hope that is all it is.

Preston came home with his Mother's Day gift this afternoon.  We "hid" it from me on the shelves behind his bedroom door.  I promised not to look at it until Sunday.

Michael is obsessed with Uncle Lawrence right now.  All day he kept asking when he was going to get to go back over.  Too bad they weren't home otherwise we probably would have.

Tyler is on day 3 of no accidents! So proud.  He has been so funny today.  He got after a pen and drew all over himself and proudly showed me "Tattoo, Daddy".  I think he had more ink on him than daddy did though.  Ty had it all over his arms, legs, and tummy while daddy just has a little bracelet looking thing on his upper arm and something on his back.  Then we were in my room and Natalie went after the fan cord that was plugged in and unplugged it.  Ty went running over to her and yelled "NO NATTY! BAD!" Then plugged it back in!  He's not supposed to touch electrical either but it was cute how he was dealing with his sister.

Natalie is obsessed with standing on her head.  She will bend over with her bottom in the air and put her head to the ground and look out from between her legs and just laugh.  Today she not only did that but she discovered she can crawl with her face in the ground.  I don't know why she does it but she enjoys it.  She enjoyed it so much today that she blistered her nose!  I went to wipe away what I had thought was baby spit or snot and ended up popping a blister on her nose!  Her poor little nose is all red now!  It doesn't seem to bother her though.

My garden is growing bigger and bigger.  I went out to look at it this morning and I found out that my pumpkins have flowered.  According to the internet they are boy flowers and well...they get into details but I thought that I would include a picture because I am so proud of myself!

Well, time to sign off! More later...

I have no "get up and go" today...

I'm sleepy.  Well, not really sleepy but wish that this could be just a nothing to do lazy day.  I'm pretty sure that everything that needs to be done could get done with little effort and not take up the whole day.  The effort to get things done is what's stopping me.  I don't have any extra that I am willing to put into it.  But, it has to be done.

I took Preston to the bus this morning and on the way out of the house I grabbed a mini ice cream cone.  I know it's not a good breakfast but I had really been wanting one.  Well, we got on the conversation of the ice cream and he was telling me how they sell the same ones at his school but without "penis".  While trying not to smile or laugh I corrected him, "They're called 'peanuts'".  All he said after that was "Oh, peanuts...I forgot." Then the subject changed.

Michael is about to get tv privileges taken away.  He is insisting that the volume has to be turned all the way up so he can "rock on".  Sesame Street is on and we don't "rock on" in this house.

I have to say that I am pretty sure that Tyler is completely potty trained now.  He's gone 2 days in a row without any accidents and this morning he actually went poop in the potty! Now I'm just down to 1 child in diapers! Yay!!!

Natalie...She is something.  Little Miss Princess!  It's her way or the highway and she will let you know it.  She has managed to find every piece of paper she can and insists on eating away on it.  Whether it's a page from a book or magazine or a piece of newspaper/sales ad it is in her mouth.

Well, I need to get off of here and get busy...

It's going to be a hot one today...

Much to do today and only a short time to do it in.  The only good thing about Josh going into work late this week is that the day flys by faster.  The bad part is that I get to deal with Amanda and Jake and I don't seem to have enough time to do everything I need to do during the day. I have a whole list of things that need to be done and I really wish I can procrastinate.  I think procrastinating is what I am doing right now...lol.  It's already mid 80's outside so I figure I can open all the windows and air out the house some more.  Hopefully my allergies won't start acting up and I can keep them open.  I need to figure out what to do for dinner-and text Josh letting him know. I have a load of laundry that needs folded and one that needs to go through the washer/dryer.  Laundry to put up, beds to make, dishes to do, counter to clear, living room to straighten, lunch to make, yard to rake, and then after everything is all done-hopefully it all gets done then-then I promised the kids I would put up the slip in slide in the yard for them to play on as well as let them in the pool (kiddie boat pool-not big one).  They won't get much time after today because Michael gets to see Amanda and Jake for 2 hours tomorrow and Preston might go see his grandma.  Then both Preston and Michael leave Friday and are gone the whole weekend until Sunday so they won't get a chance to play in the water.  Not sure how the babies are going to act with the slip and slide.  I think they'll like it.  I'll take pics and post them.  Soon.  Or much later. Lol.  You never know when I have the time anymore.  Well, I need to get busy.  I have an hour and a half before the kids need to nap...

Natalie was intrigued by the caterpillar she found on the cup.  She sat for about 5 minutes "talking" to it until it fell off onto the ground.  Then the search for it was on...
